AGE of Stupid - Coming to Hebden

Hebden Bridge Picture house and the Hebden Bridge Transition group proudly presents the extraordinary docu-drama 'Age of Stupid' as part of the Big Green Weekend 23rd-25th May.

The Age of Stupid is an exciting new climate change film starring Oscar-nominated Pete Postlethwaite (In The Name of the Father) as a man living alone in the devasted world of 2055 as he looks back asks: why didn’t we stop climate change when we could?

Directed by Franny Armstrong (McLibel, Drowned Out) and Oscar-winning Producer John Battsek (One Day In September, In The Shadow of the Moon) this compelling drama-doc explores the social causes and consequences of humans delaying serious action to tackle climate change through a heady mix of human tragedy, corporate greed, bitingly satirical animation and political activism.

The Age of Stupid release presents a uniquely opportunity to motivate friends, family, colleagues and the people of Hebden Bridge to consider the future and take action locally to fight climate change. So come along, bring your friends and be inspired, if you only see one film at the cinema this year this is the one to see!!

The Age Of Stupid @ The Hebden Bridge Picture House Sunday 24th May 4:30pm with introductory speaker from the 'Age of Stupid' team and Q&A's after the film and on Monday 25th 7:45.

The film will be followed by a benefit for the Hebden Bridge Transition group at the Trades Club from 8pm.

“The stakes are very, very high. They're through the roof. So when I looked at the subject and what the film is trying to do, there was no option really. I had to do it.” - PETE POSTLETHWAITE
